North Yorkshire County Council has announced fast broadband rollout plans for the rural communities in Farndale.
Moorsweb project launched by the Council aims at bringing reliable, high-speed broadband to homes and businesses in remote villages across the County.
NYnet, the local internet service provider, will rollout the scheme with network infrastructure to be built in Gilamoor School.
New broadband service will help users to get speeds of around 6Mbps, the BBC News has reported.
Fast broadband will improve life in rural areas, help to promote social inclusion and help businesses and educational institutions to get reliable internet access, according to Caroline Spelman, Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
With more than half of Brits making online purchases every year, rural businesses require improved service, reliable and high speed broadband connections to meet their needs.
It has been hoped that fibre based, business broadband services will help find solutions to issues like slow connections and network congestion that affect businesses in urban and rural areas.
