Nearly half of broadband customers (43%) are dissatisfied with their internet providers, the latest Ofcom customer satisfaction survey shows.
In comparison, mobile and Pay TV services had less number of dissatisfied customers, just 31% and 34% respectively. Like broadband, landline also fared poorly in the customer satisfaction ratings. Only 58% of phone customers were satisfied.
The study also shows that broadband as the sector receiving more complaints. 31% of broadband users atleast once lodged some sort of complaint with their provider. However, only 23% of pay tV customers and 20% of mobile users formally made complaints over the service issues.
Ofcom has also revealed the overall customer satisfaction levels with major UK broadband suppliers including BT, Virgin Media, TalkTalk, Orange and Sky.
Orange has the most number of satisfied customers (80%), followed by Virgin Media (72%), Sky (70%), BT (67%) and TalkTalk (59%).
When it comes to mobile services, nearly three-fourths of T-Mobile and O2 were satisfied with the service quality, comparing to Orange (70%) and 3 (69%).
New regulations are to be implemented this week to help the dissatisfied customers during the process of taking their complaints to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services like OTELO and CISAS.
